Seek God First

You ever hear people say ‘Sometimes life just happens’. A lot of times they say that when they need an excuse for not doing something they were suppose to do. I totally understand how there simply doesn’t seem to be enough time in a day to get everything done that needs to be done plus fit time in to study the Word of God – and don’t think that isn’t exactly what Satan continually whispers in our ear. But, listen to this scripture:

Word of God quote

Matthew 6:33 ‘But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.’ ~ The verb ‘seek’ here is best interpreted ‘seek continually’.

How many times is God waiting for us to seek Him? How many times is God taking second place in our lives?

The Scripture tells us to continually seek first the kingdom of God. We need to prioritize our time and make sure that we set aside time each day to be in the Word of God, cultivating our relationship with Him.

We need to give God our undivided attention! I know how it is, we sit down to study but have fifty million things running through our mind where we can’t concentrate on what God’s word is telling us or We try to do other things while we are spending time with Him where He doesn’t have our full attention.

If we put God’s will and God’s righteousness first in our lives, He will take care of everything else. Continually make God First in your life – Live everyday as unto the Lord seeking His will.
