God’s Perfect Timing

Let us open our Bibles to Esther 2:21-23, we see Mordecai sitting at the king’s gate.  This is a familiar scene right? We just saw Boaz in the book of Ruth conducting business at the city gate.

Well here again business is being conducted and Mordecai over hears a plan to assassinate King Ahasuerus.  He informs Queen Esther and she informs the king giving Mordecai the credit which ends up saving the kings life.

Here again we see God working behind the scene as this event will play a huge part later on in the plans to save the Jewish people.  Notice in verse twenty-three that it was written in the book of the chronicles in the presence of the king. Mordecai did not receive recognition or a reward for uncovering this conspiracy at this time; but in God’s timing he will be recognized as we will see later in the book of Esther.

My friend, our good works are like seeds that are planted by faith and their fruits don’t always appear immediately. Everything happens in God’s timing not in ours. It is so encouraging to know that God sees our circumstances and even though it may not seem like things are going well, we can be assured that God is working in our lives according to His plan and purpose.  Be patient and plant the seeds by faith.

I encourage you to join me as we continue our study of Esther and see the power of the providence of God working in the lives of His children for His greater purpose.
